
Tom Ahonen Named Partner at Platinum Group, a Transition Management Firm

Eden Prairie, Minn. (January 13, 2009) — Platinum Group announces that Tom Ahonen has been selected to become a partner. He has worked full time as a member of the transition management firm since 2007.
Ahonen has two ongoing roles in the firm. First, he is CFO/vice president of operations at Elvin Safety, one of Platinum’s equity companies. He also takes interim management assignments in privately held companies that are in transition and provides leadership in operations and finance.
With more than 25 years of experience, Ahonen has experience in manufacturing and distribution operations, enterprise systems and business intelligence. His background also includes working in a family owned business, a multi-national consumer products company and a large public accounting firm.
Ahonen holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Michigan University. As a volunteer pilot for the Veteran's Airlift Command, he supports the transportation needs of wounded veterans and their families. He resides in Blaine.
